I took demo of both Xenforo and IPB and I must say that feature wise, IPB is far more superior to Xenforo. Feature wise, I mean those features that are actually required to manage a successful board.

For example, I found that some of vital features missing such as ability to move users automatically to another group after n approved posts. Also, there is no feature to restrict usage of BBCodes. For example, I may not want users to user colors/fonts BBCodes. There is no way to do that in Xenforo. Also, IPB also has a feature to restrict no. of lines in a user signature. This is also very handy.

The only thing that's stopping me from IPB is it's load time. It appears to be very slow compared to Zenforo.

I have to go with XenForo. It's powerful and amazing. The ACP is real sleek and there are lots of features.
Sure XenForo lacks some features, but hey, it's still kind of new. Give it time to develop and grow.

Well I've worked with vBulletin for years and in fact I find it the most secure platform and the most reliable. Including the mods for vBulletin they are secure and clean code. phpBB only comes in play when I'm looking for an alternative, that requires low-to-no cost.

My major concerns are security and reliability.
