For me, the point of selling it would be so that it could continue running. Keeping a copy of the database and using it to set up another forum? Do I understand you correctly? If I was a buyer, I would consider that dirty pool, Nick.
For a $100,000 out of the blue, I'd probably do like Nick said. If I wanted to sell it on my own will I would be looking to give it to someone that I know can make it much better, simply because I can no longer take care of it anymore and would hate to see it die. But I'd want the site and the money for the random offer, so I'd probably go with Nick's dirty little pool, too.
Hmm depends on if the forum raked in any cash. Some forums I wouldn't sell, for example If you have a special interest/bond in the forum then why sell it and not love it. If it were a forum that I just had because i had it then I would in a heart beat. If you wanna talk about buying forums for that much I would buy probably 2 communities for that much: AdminAddict because its one of the more active communities that I see and i kind of like it, and TalkFreelance because I could work with it soo much. Cheers, Randy
That would be highway robbery for me! I'd most likely sell. My one site is about to undergo some major changes, so I'd probably hold off on selling since I'd like to be able to implement everything myself instead of putting it all in the hands of a stranger who might not do anything. I don't think my member would like it very much. I told them I sold the site as an April Fools joke and they all were saying how much they'd miss me and didn't want me to leave.
