Active means your forum is doing well, members are posting, and staff are posting. But, how active do you think a forum should be? Is 100 to 200 posts/day considered active or inactive?

    Let's share our thoughts.

I'd be happy with 100 new post a day on any site :)
I'm not sure how many we're getting here but with this forum and my other, I'm close to 150 new post a day between the two.

Active is when you visit your forums and you have new posts to read, I don't think it matters how many posts it is as long as it's something new.

Inactive is when you visit your forums and you are constantly greeted with no new posts

Well, I think 100 new posts a day is beyond active. Hell I am happy to see 10 to 20 when I show up daily on a site. But, it all depends on the nature of the site. I mean obviously a general forum is going to have more posts a day then some type of technical forum or what not. But, yeah any new posts make me happy.

I'd consider my forum to be active when there are multiple members on at once and posting. New content is good too, and I don't care about the specific numbers.

It's not really beyond active if you have 100 or so daily log ins. A general forum should do well compared to a technical forum - because the technical forum is only going to be active when people have questions to ask about technology or something.

My definition of active is a full page or more of new posts (25) when I do my first daily check in.

Very active is 2 or more pages of new posts consistently.
