What "red flags" give you early warning of a spam account?

    LOL most of my members put that they found the site through Google, and I've never had any of them turn out to be spammers.

    I'm not sure how you made that connection. :confused:

    admin have to approve all new members, and it is easy to spot a spammer.

    usually, no member with usernames containing the words viagra, porn or just random letters like diofhgdfg sdfg er dgdfgsdfgdfg are genuine

    I use false registration bots mod for spammers and after that ZERO spammers or bots show up anymore.

    I still use Admin approval only for registration and check the ISP numbers through a website I use.Use the enter access code and you will see a lot more,when accepted that you are not a bot.

    The mods are:

    Bot Buster

    Sadly when ever I see an IP out of the APNIC I get suspicious. I can think of only two real members that have IP out that region. The rest have all been spammers

    I have also seen that they tend to use Jan 1, 1980 for their date of birth.

    Yeah, that's definitely a common pattern I have observed as well.

    My first clue would be a strange user name, like Abomination LOL...

    Almost anything from Ukraine or Russia is a "red" flag.:lol:
