vB offers phone support for an additional cost.

What other software offers phone support?

Yes I know phone support should not be needed, but the question still stands.

IPB, Joomla!, Wordpress, as far as I know.

    MyBB needs a customer hotline.

IP.Board does (the amount offered varies, depending on the license purchased). ;)

This is a little off-topic, but it's never even crossed my mind to call Jelsoft and ask them "How do I _____" - that thought just seems awkward, lol.

Steve no longer does phone support. He is too busy trying to make sure every support ticket gets answered in 10 minutes or less.

We receive a great many phone calls where the people are nasty and aggressive. Not necessarily customers but someone saw something on a vBulletin powered site or they ordered an item from a vBulletin powered site and it wasn't as advertised. Then there are the identity theft victims. Most people feel better when they personally attack the person on the other end of the phone. Its not for the faint of heart.

Sometimes I regret starting the program in 2002. At least they don't call my home number directly anymore.

    Just called IPB.

Phone support is $25/month once that runs out when getting a license.
Ticket/email support is $25/6 months once that runs out when getting a license.

    Nice info to know.

You say you get a lot of calls... but you ever call people? Like has someone requested you call them or something?

Wow, that's uncalled for. (No pun intended.) Sorry you have to put up with this aggravation, Wayne. Some people are just stupid and aggressive... bad combination.

I'm sorry to hear that you get rude customers calling. Not a very classy way to handle problems. If we ever talk on the phone and it sounds to you I am rude in any way, please let me know.

Was the phone support your idea?

For the record. Once I don't 'get' something I will never 'get' it without personal attention that can only (usually) be obtained over the phone. I think it is a learning disability. Without the awesome vB phone support my forum would not exist.

It sounds like you're an auditory learner, Abomination. Phone support probably helps a lot of people like you every day.

Edit: that link is supposed to read "auditory learner", don't know why it changed.

I fixed it, Michelle. AME has a "Wikipedia" rewrite definition, and apparently it overrides any manual URL anchor text. But I just deleted that definition. ;)

That is definitely part of it. Hearing the words and not just reading them, mostly because inflections in voice send much more information to me than the actual words.
