    A site I have been recently building is slower than Christmas when it loads. So I have been working on optimizing the site's performance.


    My question: how much does website optimization for performance effect SEO?

    Slow loading times can have a negative impact. Its just one of over 200 ranking factors so no one knows the real impact, but if it takes to long to load or gives frequent time out errors expect your Bounce Rate to sky rocket and your rankings drop slowly.
