This might raise a laugh (and an almost knowing agreement) with quite a few people here:

The Grand List Of Forum And Community Laws - Television Tropes & Idioms

Sadly, it seems pretty accurate in many places. Got to love these entries for example:
^ Happens to me a lot for some reason.

Some of the Grand List and Godwin's Law links are the funniest things I've heard in a long time (cuz they're true) ... which is saying ALOT since I've been following the Jay & Conan monologue meltdowns this past few days. :p :D

Absolutely sharing further, this will break up some people for days. :lol2:

"This is Not 4chan" Rule: As the length of any "random/humorous image thread" grows longer, the probability of somebody getting the thread locked by posting an image that flagrantly violates forum rules approaches 1. They will then be angry about it after the fact.
    1. If the forum has no rules regarding images, the thread will eventually degrade into porn.
yeah........im on a forum like that

Name Change Cascade: If a notable member of the community changes their screen name once, they will usually do it again in the future.

    my record is 3.........

    1. CAD's Boomerang Law: If an active user creates a post announcing they are voluntarily leaving the community, they will almost certainly return. The length of the post is directly proportional to their likelihood of returning and inversely proportional to the time it will take for them to return.
    2. In general, users leave forums because they get bored and stop caring. Posting a lengthy "goodbye" post is an illustration that they still care about the community and its members. Most veteran users never really "leave" a site for good, they still lurk often and sometimes post once or twice a year.
yeah....and some members post a leaving thread and when someone says theyre glad this person is leaving, they come back to flame that person. ive never known someone leave a forum for good

Law of Thread Entropy: A given thread will always tend to drift off-topic.

    agreed

This finally, finally got the worst practitioner banned on my forum. I couldn't maintain enough mod staff to edit her images all the time, and after many mod contacts and an ultimatum she still refused to "understand" what was off limits. Her last reply to me was "... I will always test the boundaries ..." and my reply back was "... not on this forum you won't." Banned. :speechless: :D

Got pm's from members saying "about time, I couldn't look at the site at home, my kids can see the screen."

i know a member like that. any innocent thread can turn to porn. this varies from sexually suggestive but with bits covered up, to full nudity, without a warning or anything, just an innocent thread and someone inserts a picture-it got worse when a few members complained about it and the mods deleted it, so just to cause even more trouble they posted worse and worse images. there are some things on the internet you cant unsee. pictures of naked old men are one of them.
