Tapatalk 2 was released almost a year ago and current android release is 2.4.1
    Has something changed recently?

I have found tapatalk releases to be very buggy, especially for users on 3G. About 20% of the forums in Tapatalk are not accessible for 3G users or have other difficulties. The Tapatalk support forums are always filled with support requests from struggling webmasters.
Most releases fix a number of bugs and introduce many new bugs.

It would be great if they would actually do a full rewrite to resolve the ongoing bug flow.

I was talking about the iOS version... Maybe they will do a complete rewrite for Android like I can only assume they did for iOS.

Looks like @tapatalk has joined our forum, maybe they'll chime in on some of the questions in this thread.

Tapatalk is another tool that seems to polarize people to either love or hate it. My opinion is that it's a great tool to have but that you don't need to use it. On my forum I don't use tapatalk because the purpose of my forum is to write posts and share opinion in a way that leads to meaningful conversations. It's a little too easy to spam pointless things with tapatalk and so I opted to avoid using it, for now.

Yeah... although to be fair... is $0.99 really that much? lol

We've become a little spoiled with the whole App Store pricing licensing with software. I wish I could pay one price and get Photoshop license that I can run on all my computers and get upgrades for free for the next 100 years too. :)

I don't use it either but I've been thinking about installing it on my phone. We offer this and forum runner to our members though and they seem to like them. Once tapatalk 2 rolls out fully, I'ma install that as well.

My philosophy: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/apps Shitty...I know. I agree with that since I hate purchasing Master Collection.
