    Hey there,
I am looking at installing the modification [AJAX] Tabbed Forum Home located at "the org"
    http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=175687

I did have a couple questions about it that I have asked in the thread but gotten no reply at all from them - despite it meant to be a supported product - and so thought I would ask the two questions here.

    The first question being:
+ Will this type of modification affect the SEO of the forums in anyway?
+ I have seen a website (DailySportPages) that use the same system however they have one or two boards that are automatically loaded on the page outside of the tabs - does anyone have any idea how that is done?

As mentioned I has asked these questions elsewhere but no one is able to help, or no longer reply in that thread that are able to help.

Any help you could provide would be greatfully appreciated.

First- it won't effect seo's much as it's an embedded code that uses the hide effect until 'onclick'. Like the collapse forum button. However most search engines will not pick up on anything on the home page that is 'hidden' by default.
Second - custom template and calling a certain forum conditional to display.

    Hope this helps.

If i may, I too have asked a question over there to no avail.

How do people manage this if you want to have a tabbed version and an untabbed version as far as keeping things up to date?

Do you maintain two separate styles or do you have one as the child and one as the parent?

Normally have two styles - 1 as tabbed and one normal.

I usually have 2 'master' slave default styles. 1 for modifications and one for default content.

I'm using this mod. Love it.
But the only problem is that the ajax version really caused a lot of server load for my host.

    Interesting.
I would like to know how the DailySportPages site done with the tabs.

I toyed with this idea for a while before putting onto TVOTB, and I really, really like it, makes the navbar less crowded.

As far as how that page is loading, it's all about the template. It's not that hard to modify things a bit, I had fun doing that with mine ;)

    I've installed the non-ajax version.

It's pretty easy actually. All you need is to follow the guide.
