I'm not sure about other solutions, but vBulletin has a feature where you can force members of a certain usergroup to change their password every X days.
If security is a major concern of yours, do you take advantage of this feature and actually use it? Do your moderators complain about it or do they understand the reasoning behind it?

While I think it is a good feature to have available, I have never actually used it. :(

I would use this after any hacking incident I guess but other than that no.

This would drive anyone with a password algorithm nuts. I disabled it.

I agree with what's already been said - utilizing such a feature would drive me (and other members) crazy. I'm a bit of a security freak myself, but this is taking it too far.

I don't us VB but i think i wouldn't use that because that would just be a huge inconvenience and annoying but if i suspected them of sharing passwords i might implement it for a month see how it works and if it solves the problem

Hey, if we really wanted to be mean we could enable this for the Miserable Users usergroup and set the interval to three days :)

You are a genius!!!! I have a group of special people and doing things like this would drive them nuts!

I just checked, yes it can be set on a specific user group!

Absolutely agree - I've disabled it as well on the new forum I'm starting - I do think it's enabled on JPiC which gets on my last nerve LOL - I'm gonna disable it...

Bwahaha! Well, my work here is done. Be sure to have a straight face when you tell them you're only concerned about their safety.

See, that is not a straight face. You have to make them believe you're serious; inhabit the role! ;)

Now how many other people ran out to their forums and changed it on their least desirable members? Raise your hands :)

LOL too funny, Michelle. That is certainly a witty idea for "miserable users" groups.

I personally find it annoying. I've never used it, and like Paul, hate changing passwords.

I haven't done this on my own forums, mind you; just too cruel. But you never know what will happen that might cause me to think I should go ahead with it...
