Do you integrate social bookmarking features and interactivity into your forums? If so, where? I.e. Threads, posts, the entire site as a whole?

How has such integration impacted traffic and membership?

I tried the facebook connect on my board but since no one on my board has a facebook account it didn't really last long.

Other then that, I have the vbseo ones in the threads and have submitted articles and threads to Digg and Twitter got a bunch of visitors but never any sign ups. I think if maybe my site was actually busy there might have been sign ups...but we'll never know haha

AddThis! - Pretty useful tool, I had set it up to refer the whole thread, people tell me they'll use it sometimes. :) It's pretty useful for Digg if you're forum deals in cool stuff.

To be honest, AA is the first forum I have. So far, so good. I suppose I've been missing out in the past, because it's proven to be very useful (and liked) here.

I have the mod that displays the last four Twitter posts in the member's profile... that's about it.

My forum software has that feature, but I dont really use it. I just put the bookmarkings on my articles that I write for my site.

My forums software doesn't have the software but it would be something I'd love to try out.

I have no Social Bookmarking at any of my forums.

However, adding them could be helpful.

But, do users use the Social Book markers often?

I doubt they really bother, unless they have a digg account they really enjoy the attention from. Maybe if you repeatedly asked them to use the social networking buttons.

It depends on your niche. In a webmaster-related niche, like AA, yes it would be a good idea.

But there is so much more than Digg - like Twitter and Facebook. :)

Well I'm not going to ask them to use the social book markers.

I agree. Honestly, I have learned that only add modifications that could benefit your site.

Yes. And, the only one I can see being most used is Twitter.

Since I don't have vBSEO on Magic Theme Parks - Magic Kingdom yet, I noticed the social bookmarking option on vBulletin comes preset with only Digg, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon and Google.

How do you add others? Especially Twitter and Facebook.

To add new bookmarks: AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Social Bookmarking Manager (on the left panel, not the options).

Others (Facebook) can be found here: Social Bookmarking Sites - vBulletin Community Forum
... and Twitter here: Social Bookmarking Sites - Page 4 - vBulletin Community Forum
