Do you do this? If you do, why do you do it?

I know a couple of admins that do it for safety, but I tell them if I wanted to see the version number, you just have to view the page source and its there.

It is not difficult to remove it completely. And you do not break your license by doing so. At least it didnt before dunno about the new TOS. And yes most do it to stop themselves from being targets of 0 Day Exploits. People will just search google for a version number and boom goes the dynamite :)

I always removed the version number in vBulletin. I did it to clean up the footer and like @Cerberus said, to prevent broadcasting our version number for exploits.

Always removed the version number, both footer and header versions.
