With the recent boom in digital photography, lots of people are taking picutres. But who's making art?

Show off your best artistic photography, or just a good image that you're particularly proud of.

Just try to keep the resolution reasonable for the forum. No HUGE images, please. If you want to show original size, please provide a link back to the full-resolution image.

my camera isn't as good as yours, but i happen to be gathering images like this to put up in my apartment -- when I get them together (and after Ernesto passes), I'll post some here.

I'm a firm believer that it's not the camera... it's the photographer. People can get some amazing pictures that professional photographers would dismiss as "junk".
In fact, I have a friend who literally buys old camera from charity places and ebay, and he manages to get some amazing shots.

The camera is just a tool. The photographer is what makes art.

    :) @ MO -- nice photo, too!

yeah, i agree dan -- a photographer with a column i read occasionally said some of his best shots are with his point-and-shoot that he carries all the time... simply because he carries it all the time. i try to bring mine along whenever possible too.

i was referring mostly to specacular macro shots like that, which i'd have no hope of capturing

haha, very nice -- you should blend that line a bit more so it's indistinguishable

Yeah... that's what I was going for, but I'm not skilled enough in Photoshop to pull it off.

your camera phone is awesome, what kind of phone do you have? new phones have 1.5 or 2 megapixel cameras, but it's the teensy little lenses that are their limiting factors. yours look pretty good.

i'm still gathering images, i'll post 'em soon

Yeah, my cameraphone is garbage for anything involving the camera. It honestly cannot take a good picture if you needed it to, and I have yet to find anything it considers to be "optimal conditions". Bright sun... no good. Shade... no good. Low light... no good.

BTW, I'm surprised at how sharp it is for a cameraphone. It's not focused on the blossom, but rather on the leaves behind it, but they are obviously in very sharp focus.
