No one said nor intended monthly updates. We could do monthly updates- we could do weekly updates - but it is a lot of work for both us and you to do that. Understand we have some customers complain that updates every 6 weeks are too often too.

We have selected a balance we hope provides the most new fixes/features but balances the fact packaging frequent updates waste time developers could be working on more bug fixes.

Ultimately the frequency of updates is a personal opinion, not a right or wrong number- AND it is mostly independent of the actual speed of development.

Wait, people expect monthly updates from any forum software? I don't recall anyone promising as much...

Seems a bit impatient if you ask me. Besides, considering the state vB 5 is in, would you really want them to rush updates out on a monthly basis?

I would rather see quality updates happening to the software than quantity, vB hopefully will improve greatly in the near future

If you don't have it, not use it for your live site, then SHUT UP!!!

it's been a year & still FULL OF BUGS & LACK OF FEATURES
we bought, pay in full $249, not in credit ($21/month)

Do you have anything of substance or are you just making it up as you go along?
Because Hellman & Friedman is a billion dollar worldwide corporation.
    They don't have financial problems.
They have an unqualified individual chairing the vBulletin brand.
That same individual is highly qualified to chair the many other brands which fall under the Internet Brands corporate umbrella.
Internet Brands has roughly 600 employees.
But somehow they can't afford to pay their employees?
Stupid shit like this is why you get banned from vBulletin.com

It's been about 3 months since I stopped checking vb.com once a day too. I think vB should work on 4.x but I'm pretty sure we can all agree that 5.x is getting priority right now.

Quality over quantity, although nothing but a re-write will improve vB5's quality...

It would be nice if they implemented the tagging system for 4.0 without having to use a plugin for it. Actually, a top posters feature would also be pretty cool.
