    Geo Information
    IP Address
    Host
    Location A1 A1, Anonymous Proxy
    City -, - -
    Organization Road Development, LLC
    ISP NTT America
    AS Number AS2914

Is there a way to detect and anonymous proxy on a forum?

Then disable certain features if it is anonymous?

Just a general idea would suffice.

Sorry, but I do not understand your question? Do you want to stop people from visiting your site through a proxy? Or do you want to stop them by registering through a proxy,,,,,?

What is it "exactly" that you want to do?

We've had a few spammers signing up and PMing people. If I could detect the people that sign up through proxy somehow I'd like to put them in a special group that has PMs disabled.

I don't know anything about these types of things.

During serious spammer / [****][****][****][****][****][****][****] problems I will block proxies, yes. It's fairly trivial - just check for open port 80 and for tor-exit hostnames. The former I prefer to just flag, but there's no reason to be signing up through tor.
