I'm so confused...

Wow, the cookie process seems to be screwed- it now seems like it is not taking on my PC. What is the secret to properly operating alien cookies??

For the heck of it, do these in the following order to help isolate this:

1) Go to a web site other than Alien Soup.

2) Go into your preferences, and clear out your entire cache (even your history if you can live with it)

3) Close your browser.

4) In Explorer, go locate your cookies file/files, and delete them all (in IE, no need to delete the index file.)

5) Load up browser.

6) Go to Alien Soup Forums.

7) Once main page loads (Ultimate.cgi), refresh it so a cookie is set and the little alien head shows 'off' (no new messages, dark color).

8) Go into preferences on alien soup, and select your preferences, then click submit.

9) Let me know if the exact same thing continues after this...

Hey Alien-

Didn't need to clear out ALL of the cookies- just needed the "double preferences" step as detailed in the Virgin and Cookies thread. Sorry for the confusion- I didn't realize I had to set the Preferences a SECOND time to get it to stick...
