The easiest way is to do a search on your keywords and see where you show up in the results.

Do a search for your targeted keywords, and scroll through the results pages until you find your site.

You can also setup google webmaster tools and it will show your sites position for certain search results.

vbSetup offers some downloadable SEO tools, including a tool to check where you are on search engine results pages for specified keywords.

I find the best way is to install google analytics, and then you can monitor your progress over time and see which keywords are bringing traffic, and watch your site grow in general.

I was about to ask this question - thankfully the search found this page before I started a new thread - some handy information here thanks to all who have contributed.

Looks like they just link to other sites that have the tools and aren't offering any?

Last I checked you downloaded each tool directly from vBsetup...
