How much horsepower do I need server wise?

To be honest it all depends on whether the forums have many posts, mods, themes etc and how much resources are using if a forum has like 9 mods then it will probably take up about 200-300 MB for just one forum with none about 50 MB but it depends on posts.

 

Well I did buy a server its a Dell Inspiron 660 with a I5 3.0GHZ, 8GB of ram, 1TB hard drive. I already have Linux loaded and its ready to go. It will be online next Tuesday.

P.S. I would have bought a real server but I went through Dell Financing and they only let you buy regular computers with a personal account. I have had 3 desktop part servers in the past and they all ran fine. I am sure that I will not have any problems with the Dell.

Also I decided to do this as a hobby and not professional to make money. I have 1 website and 5 domains that I will be developing and I may make a few more. It just depends on how busy I get with what I have now.
