To promote Post Bomb, I made a new thread on all promotion forums I know and I bump them everyday with our new statistics or news. We also use Twitter and may start using Facebook.

    What about you?

I promote on other promotion forums, I do exchanges and buy adspace. I am also sponsoring ForumPromotion, which in return is helping my forum.

In adjacent to the methods above I have found blog comments to be a very good and effective way to gain promotion to my site. I simply attempt to find the largest blog in the same niche as me and attempt to create meaningful and accurate comments that will get approved. If the blog is dofollow also then it will greatly help your forum "get out there!"

Yea I always make sure if a blog is dofollow before trying to promote my forum in a comment.

I've always found that it doesn't matter if a blog is dofollow or nofollow. If the blog is large enough and is of the same genre niche as you then you will only have to worry about supplying an amazing post. With that other readers will see that you are interested in the subject and have a vast knowledge of the niche. From there they may end up going to your forum and joining. This is why it is always a good idea to thing things through and attempt to give the best possible reply in a message or post.

Good point Panik, I only really reply to blogs when I really do enjoy the postings. And my comments are usually very well written and explained.

So far, I've been promoting through signature links, and buying various links on related forums / blogs / sites. Eventually, I'd like to use Facebook Ads as well to bring in some traffic.

I usually post in promotion forums, share my new topics in bookmarking sites and twitter. I also use my site's banner in all of the sites i visit.

Signatures are probably the best and easiest way to promote, why some don't take advantage of it is beyond me.

How much traffic do bookmarking sites drive you?

How many links do you buy? Do you buy links through http://www.text-link-ads.com

Well, how are you tracking the stats? 10 days is more than enough time to see where your referrals are coming from - Google anayltics helps with that.

Some forums don't allow it--I don't exactly want to start out there in a negative light because I'm "only there to advertise." ;)
