Have you ever been banned from someone else's forum?

Yeah, it really is. This guy's done this to many people, so at least I know that all of us can't be wrong. I guess it's a bad recipe when you have a fragile ego + your forum is your only source of income = easily threatened by others sharing opinions.

I was banned from vBulletin FAQ once. heheh

It was back a couple of years ago before I was asked to be a co-admin. The then-coadmin was pissed at me, and banned me. It was funny.

I have been banned from LOTS of forums (most recently of course vbulletin.com, though I'm unbanned now), because I do speak my mind and it gets some people's backs up.

I recently found out I was banned from ANOTHER forum, for a review they didn't like. Ask for a review, but can't take criticism.

That's rather amusing. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, right?

Of course, he banned the account I tested at, as soon as I cleaned my cookies I could see the forum again and I wasn't banned.... Funny thing, I left it clear that I wasn't going to sign up and the account the person banned was the test account. XD

Now that's just silly. The proper response to criticism (especially criticism you asked for) is

    1) thank the reviewer politely for the criticism
    2) determine if the criticism is valid
    3) consult others to see if they agree
    4) make changes as necessary
    5) ask for another review

I had over 7000 posts on a forum and was banned from it for posting a link to an article I wrote for another forum.

The sad part is that one of their supermods does the same thing all the time.

They ended up banning all 9 of their top 10 posters and now the forum has gone to hell.

Yea, I got banned from an webmaster forum. This moderator and I were going at it in just about every thread. I honestly think she had some kind of cyber problem with me.

So I posted this big flame thread directly pointed at the mod. I was banned as a result.

A link to my forum was in my profile. So I'am still getting links from that site over 2 years later.

That's ridiculous. Apparently, they wanted no part in having staff members relate to "other" discussion forums.

Very nice, Michelle - I should add this to our review guidelines, because some members can't seem to take the heat of a review sometimes! :P
