This morning i got banned on a site, was good until i saw a thread i didnt
create. I checked it out, there was nothing in the post. Means he edited
the link out, seems it lead to some porn site. Apparently he knew my pw,
i had no idea he did. But i talk with the administrator, try to get things
straight. He bans the second account for Multiple Accounts. Im pissed cause
he put the thread title as " Ultimante Music Site " (he can't spell lol) . So
i talk, browse the forums a bit, then next im banned for two months. My
group was VIP, which i donated $20! Isnt that alot to donate to a website.
I mean i tried to explain, but he never got the point. Then the thread gets
deleted, and i ask the moderator to check the IP's. (that was after it was
deleted) He said the IP matches my IP. Im banned for a month, which loses a
month off of my VIP. Which totally sucks, i was posting content in there.
Im thinking what do you do to VIP members that do bad things? Actually
ban for a month isnt right, should get an infraction. That site had noob staff anyways, most of the members knew it.

All usergroups should be treated equally, at least the member usergroups should. It isnt there problem you paid for a premium membership and your IP matches the posted content. If you never actually posted the content they could actually be lieing about the IP matching to you, it is possible I guess.

I think when we donate to sites, it is because we believe in the site and I always let those who donate to us (even though it has not been a lot) that donations do not exempt them from our rules and to make sure they know it before they try to purchase a gift out of jail free card.

That said, I sure hope you can work things out and get back in with the site if that is what you hope for as well. A month banning seems like a long time.

I hope I never get banned for a month from here. :spin:

Whether or not a donation is made, all members should be susceptible to being "banned" if such a situation were to arise.

I can't say that I've seen a member "get banned for nothing". There has always been a reason behind the ban, whether it be mouthing off inappropriately or directly insulting another member. If a member were to make a small monetary donation to a community, placing them on a pedestal is simply not the appropriate move to make. Each individual should be treated fairly and equally (or, in other words, no "favorites") - as such, all members (regardless of their standing in the community) should be subject to such action.

There is always a reason for a ban. Whether it's an acceptable reason is another story altogether.

Yea everyone gets the same treatment from me as well to.

If you think you've been banned for something you didn't do. Just be a total dick about the rest of the situation and try to get your money back and say the donation was for services and promises that weren't rendered or as advertised.

The thing is i never did anything just went on and talked in the chatbox.
My friend even sent a pm to the Admin saying it was him on my account
which it was. Then he banned him for posting it. I never acutally did anything.
    Im still banned, not cool.

Allowing other other people to access your account is a bannable offense on most forums, so I can see how this may have happened this way.

Agreed. Chances are that this friend of yours retrieving your password without your consent is slim to none. Therefore, you have got to take full responsibility for what was posted through your account. Keeping it real, why would you allow this friend of yours acccess? I'm assuming to receive the benefits of the v.i.p group?

I think the administrator got it spot on.

I don't mean to sound rude, but the action taken by the administrator was correct. You surely cannot expect such account abuse to continue on without any sort of action taken against you in return?

Are you an admin AK? If you are, you are lucky you have never seen this situation before, because let me tell you, there are lots of sisters and brothers out there who seem to get into the accounts of their siblings.

    ;)

Bottom line, I think that admin did what was right for what she or he knows. Going forward you can hopefully keeping things more secure and not have this happen again.

    Good luck

No offense ak but I find it hard to believe that he could have guessed an 11 word password even more so when that password was letters and numbers. If your friends go around breaking into your accounts I'd hate to see what your enemies are capable of.

I believe you gave him the password and you trusted him enough not to get found out and you did. This is what I was saying in my previous post about responsibility, you have to take the rough with the smooth. You took a chance and it didn't pay off resulting in 2 accounts being banned.

All I can advise is either don't do it again, or atleast be smart enough not to get caught. With your account being in a specialized group having access to it would have had it's benefits and we can safely say he wouldn't have guessed an 11 word and numbered password. Learn from it, the admin had every right in banning, I'm surprised it wasn't longer than a month.

Don't take this personally, I just find it difficult to believe anyone can guess a password.
