    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...-isp-refused-to-host-any-version-of-vbulletin
    Don't know what's funnier.

That a host refuses to host a vbulletin site, that the word SECURITY (or like mark posted only S E C U R I ) is censored on vbulletin.com or their default reply in year 2012/2013
    replace (*) with posted/did/censored

Anybody else noticed, that it's always the fault of somebody, who lelf/had to leave the company?:D

That's the modus operandi of Internet Brands.
So and so wasn't authorized to speak on behalf of the product.
Always followed by the departure of so and so under specious circumstances.
    Scapegoating at its finest.

    Why IB censored SECURI?
What's wrong with the company (SECURI)?

SUCURI is some kind of "website monitoring and malware cleanup" software which claim it works with any number of products, including vBulletin. Since the product a) sound like a scam and b) is dependent on, in this case vBulletin, it only makes sense the official site would block it from being linked.

Take your head out of your ass long enough to look things up instead of making shit up as you go along.

Someone, who shall remain nameless, was spamming links to Securi. It was added to the word censor as a result.
The addition inadvertantly caused the word security to get partially censored as well, this was noticed and the issue was corrected.

    Drama over, move along. :)

No, you idiot. They also censor vBSEO and any number of other products they don't want to give free advertising to on their forums.

Or the first bastion of those who understand there are reasons for doing things that don't always involve conspiracy theories.

OOOO look some one is using insults and swear words. Lets all run away in fear.

Lets all say a silent prayer that ProSportsForums can see the light and gain the knowledge to voice his opinions in a civilised and responsible manner.

prosportsforums, i agree with your comments 100%, but not your delivery.

censoring securi or a variant, similar to censoring vbseo, on the official vB site makes sense to stop spam, aff links, etc.

no need to call names though.

When you can't win an argument just call people idiots and talk about their upbringing. Works every time. NOT

This isn't an argument. There's nothing to win. What it is about is someone who is supposedly a forums administrator who either makes things up based upon conspiracy theories or simply doesn't know what any forums administrator who frequents the official software forums, or any of the numerous admin forums knows.

Specific to this thread discussion, vBulletin doesn't arbitrarily ban terms under some broad definition of censorship. It was an ignorant statement, and one not made by anyone who spends more than two minutes on the site. What vBulletin does, and has always done, is to ban paid third party modifications and add-ons from advertising on the official forums. That isn't some new policy of censorship. It's a long-standing policy of nearly every business. Why would a business offer a third party free advertising? vBulletin doesn't even use paid advertising so why would they give it away freely?

People are free to disagree with the delivery all they choose but it doesn't change the facts of the situation. No business exists to give free advertising to other businesses. Insofar as the ISP is concerned, they obviously had an unsecure shared server and having one database get hacked affected other customers as a result. That tells me more about the hosting provider than it does about anything else. It also tells me the site owner probably used the same password for the forums and for the database. Not a good idea.

What none of it tells me is why Big Al has an opinion on everything but researches nothing.

There's a marked difference between an opinion and an informed opinion.

There is a marked difference between an opinion and an inappropriate response based on ignorance, that hides behind profanity and insults, as it has nothing else to sustain it.

When you have to resort to such tactics you have already lost credibility.
