ive just got a dell 1545 four months ago, i have never really played pc
games until i played on one at a friends house, i liked the game so
much i lent it however i find when running it on my dell its painfully
slow, it sticks and is unbearable to play, i figured my graphics card
must be poor as most laptops are. i dont want to upgrade my graphics
card because this would void my insurance policy.

i was wondering what my options are, is there such thing as an external
graphics card, a sort of plug and play thing or maybe a usb one. any
    help appreciated.

Maybe it's not the card, maybe it's something else.

Tell me this, do you have a video card at all?

its an intel integrated graphics card, just looked it up. If it's like mine it's probably nothing more then a 128mb. Your options are near to none. There is a PCI graphics card adapter you can buy

but $200 and then you have to buy a PCI graphics card on top of that. I brought my laptop less then that :P

The other options are, Upgrade ram (This might help if your laptops slow) or buy a new laptop.
