Do you prefer to use a dark skin or a light skin on your forum? Or perhaps both?

Do you have any specific reason for sticking with either a light/dark skin?

I've (generally) always preferred to use lighter skins - I find them to be a bit more professional and "crisp" looking.

Although as of recently, I'd really like to start a project that uses a darker skin.

I usually prefer a light skin, as it's more professional in my eyes. But, If the members want a dark skin, I might just add a professional looking one ;)

I like all types of skins, though I strive to meet the users' needs.

I really like the mid-dark/light kinds of skins.

We have both on ours. The dark acctually gets a ton more views than the light, but then people say they dont like the dark. So who knows. We have both of them as an option but the dark one as default. I myself rather the dark skin

I tend to use darker skins on forums that are just general and lighter on more professional oriented skins. I usually try to get a version of both dark and light on them to give users the option but it doesnt always work.

I prefer Light styles (preferably) in the pastel/soft colour range. Dark styles retain a high contrast which I find hurts my eyes. Though that's not to say I don't know a good dark theme when i see one because there are a few dark themes I found visually appealing but just not good for my eyes.

I will usually use a light skin, although if done right, a dark skin can be very nice at times. A dark skin, though, is generally not something you'd want on just any forum. I think there are specific niches that are more suitable than others.

This is what my members say. Bitchy, annoying members. >.<
I like dark skins, but the overweighing majority is into light skins.

I like light skins; more professional and accommodates smileys.

I like light skins better than the darker ones, but there are some darker ones that are fabulous and VERY appropriate for the topic of the forum. My Glam Rock Talk skin is one of my favorite darker toned skins.

I use a light theme with a darker background - provides a very nice amount of contrast, and I feel it helps draw the eyes to the content of the page.

I prefer the light skin with bright colors, but I've been thinking I should make a dark high contrast skin for my visually impaired users. Maybe a nice Navy Blue.

Both, my original skin used black borders while the rest was light grey.

I prefer something in the middle not to light and not to dark. Sometimes I can go for an dark skin but mostly I want something in betwin.

I like my skins like I like my boys... If they are sexy, well-built, crafted with lovelyness and have pretty shiny teeth then I'm in love... Okay - well I suppose skin don't have pretty shiny teeth - only sexy boys - well - you get the point...

Oh - and I like Black boys, White boys, Yellow Boys, Medium-toned boys... Hmmm...

    Jacquii. :)
