Lol, fair enough, but it is hard to read and losing the capitals and typing in lowercase would be quicker and easier :D

    Giving up? Closing? Nonsense!
I've put a lot of work into all of my forums (my latest one especially), and giving up is just not an option.

People don't like something about your forum? That's fine, then look at it and see if it's a valid complaint. Don't just assume that someone's attacking your forum (or you) because they voice a negative statement, look at that statement and see if it can be changed.

Giving up is, well, the quitters way out. Do you want to be a quitter, or someone who spends their time for no return? Really?

Its been what Since March untill JetGaming officially started and look how inactive we are, i still continue to do updates and try and make things better, ive put way too much time and money into this just to let it go the only active people are staff currently but we plan on changing that for new year for when i will be officially either buying vbseo to try and get more traffic or buying advertising spots on large websites and one competition i have in mind is 1st prize will receive a £40 Steam Game or 1 year XBL.

1 thing i did, Was never give up..One Day we will grow.

If you can not afford to use legit vBulletin, use free software like MyBB.
If you can not be bothered to get users posting or care for your community then you don't deserve a community.

While I don't encourage using "free" (aka stolen) vB, this statement is absolutely correct.

It's taken me months to get tvotb off the ground and running as it is today, and I'm behind task. Is it where I want it? Absolutely not. I still have about 2 months of movies (just for 2009) to get info for and list, I still have to login and update sports schedules weekly, tv schedules daily, add movies to the list of stuff daily (which isn't exactly easy work), create interest in topics daily, add news daily.

What, you think running a forum is easy? It's not, by any means, and, in most cases, it's an absolutely unrewarding, thankless job. Members complain because of ads, or because they can't block them, people try to attack your forum, spam on your forum, it's just a messy, thankless thing. If you're not prepared for real work, then get out now.

When Ryan mentioned free he meant a free software, not nulled vB.

Indeed as FMB said, I mean use a free forum software not nulled vBulletin.

Its sad to see some one give up so easily. But if the decision is right for you, then go for it.
But for me i know how hard it is, and how easy it would be to just shut up shop and quit, but im actually starting to see the results of my hard work, and its a pleasing feeling.
Im sure if a lot of members knew how much effort it takes to get a forum started and keep it running effectivly then they would probably feel bad for their inactivity. I wish!
Any way, if its what you feel is right, then go for it and good luck for what ever you decide to do next :)

If I may add my .02, I think Ak Worm wasn't ready to be a community owner because he doesn't handle criticism well. As we all know, when you run a forum you're going to get a lot of it; some legitimate, some not. To be successful you have to distinguish between the two and learn from it. If people you trust (or multiple people) tell you something is wrong with your forum, you should believe them and work to make it better. Take some time off, regroup, learn more about HTML and PHP and (social) networking, and give it another try once you know you can do a better job.

Having the ability to handle criticism is indeed crucial. Being able to respond to said criticism appropriately is also (if not equally) important. If you can't take the heat, perhaps it's time to remove yourself from the kitchen... not necessarily permanently, but for as long as necessary.
