Building a Site (and You Can Tag Along!)

First, I'm not sure if this should be here in the vBulletin section, or more in the general community section, but since this is a vB build, I'm posting it in here.

I was commissioned to build my mom a website for her business, LaCombe Consulting, which is mostly a psychic venture on her part. She heals, foretells, and hypnotizes.

I'm only about a half a day into the build so far, and a lot of that time was spent on vBAdvanced.com looking for a solution, which I finally found (more like interpolated).

So, I'm supposed to have this site done by Oct 1.

Should be no problem, but I do have a LOT of other things I need to do with our t-shirt business at the same time, so this is cutting it close... :nailbite:

Sorry, was in the middle of customizing something, so if you'd like to check back now, it should be a little better.

 

What kind of skin do you plan to add? Any particular color scheme?

 

The style will be similar to here: Psychic readings in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Twin Cities Area, Minnesota

(it's a little messed up right now because the old admin quit and the new one doesn't really know what she'd doing)

It will be completely custom.

I was envisioning something hypnotizing.

 

They have this thing about purple and gold and green, so that's what my mom chose.

She even has freshly-painted lavender walls in her new office.

All but the links page are done now as far as content (the forums will be private, and will be invitation-only (Hey Cyb! Need a mod! )).

Just to let some of you know, the ONLY mod I have installed right now is vBa CMPS. I've edited a couple of templates, but don't worry, NO styling has been done yet!

Figured it should be at the end of Navigation, so guests/possible clients can read thru everything first, before contacting your mom.

Why are you using vBulletin for this kind of website? Will the forums be in use? LaCombe Consulting

 

yes, the forums will be for online consultations for my mom's clients. They are hidden and are by invitation only.

That's kind of rare, usually you'd have a contact us page as some users may find using forums difficult.

 

There are many other forums that are used for this same thing. Not rare, you just haven't seen it enough before. I have made a couple of graphics for sites like these.

 

Am I missing something? I can't find a forum on the website.

Take a look on the left menu on the bottom.

And, I suppose I should have clarified that this exercise wasn't necessarily about setting up a forum, but just making a site.

Right now the forums are just in their default state as my mom was not expecting forums to be a part of this, and she was out of town this weekend when I did it, so I still need to discuss this aspect with her to see how she wants it set up.
