    Hiya,

So Mr. Boss inspired me with this idea --

To take my avatar, which I have a larger size of, and to animate it be burning, flaming, if you will.

Type of Graphic (A logo, avatar, banner, etc.): Avatar
Colors: flame colors in addition to what is already there?
    Text Preference: n/a
Specific Images to be included: let me know how to provide and desired format, but i've attached a 800x600 jpg version (I also have a Blender version)
Size (in pixels): 800x600 as the raw for which to make other sizes from at my leisure?
Payment/Offer in return (if applicable): Paypal, your direct time, let me know
Any other details or specifications: none that I can think of atm.

    My inspiration!

Ha! I love it! That's nice actually - I did what I call Fl@ming Feenix - the JPiC Messenger which will eventually be the rss feed poster bot for JPiC Forum:

    .

It would be awesome to see it animated. So you have an animated version of your graphic? That would be super-f**ing-kewl dude :P

Oh wait a sec... Are you selling the graphic? I'm not sure I understand the payment thing in your quote... :-/

    Jacquii.

Do you either have the mesh file (3d file) for it or a vector of the base shape?

I'm just experimenting with Maya (got it yesterday), and I'd love to give this a shot. :)

    Chani thanks!

Would love to give you want you want, but I need a little help. While I'm familiar with modeling programs of structural analysis (similar concept), I'm not that versed when crossing over to the gfx world (e.g., file formats).

So if you wouldn't mind starting by telling me what you ideally desire (file format ergo application), followed by less ideal ones that can be used to covert.

I believe my original 3D image was actually made in Blender. If so, I may be able to export out a desired format for you.

Preferably, if you can export to obj, that would be the best, but failing that, 3ds, or even ai (Illustrator), or dxf would be okay. :)

Ok, let me know if I did this correctly. I attached a zip file from the export.

    Thanks!

    Hmmm...that didn't work for some reason. :(

Do you have a 2d vector file of the design?

I don't believe so. I probably have to figure out how to get that out of Blender.

I've chosen to export out a 3ds file from it....

Edit: I've added another zip of files that help with. the 2D vector i believe.

Sorry, I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this to import.

I think I finally figured it out (I had 2.5 hours of sleep this morning).

I think you have an empty file there...

I can't wait to be able to work on this! ;)

Edit: Oops, I didn't see the dxf file.

But it's giving me errors. :(

Well, I could certainly be doing something wrong on my end. Ultimately i have to wait till I'm home to access more possibilities.

But attached is an eps file that I'm tld you can take into AI.

Thanks for your resilience and patience.

So I have to leave this LOL pic to brighten things up...

Just trying to get some good settings for the fire now. :)

Sorry, opened Maya for the first time since 2002 when I was in animation school. And even then, I opened it once, made a box, and couldn't figure out how to get any further, so I shut it down. :o
