Amazon and a new North Carolina tax law

    Live in North Carolina? You may want to call your elected officials on the state level. NC is getting ready to put a new tax into place that will force amazon to remove north carolina residents from the associates program.

    All tax bills have to be introduced in the house of representatives. So call your elected officials and tell them no new taxes. If NC does this, the idea could spread to other states. This must be stopped.

    Seems like a crappy thing for Amazon to do actually. They have to charge California residents sales tax on sales through affiliate programs and haven't cut us off. This is simply an underhanded lobbying scheme by Amazon to make people upset and have them complain on Amazon's behalf instead of presenting their case to the legislature themselves.

    Grassroots gone wrong. Very wrong. It is not the state that is making the affiliates victims here but Amazon.com that is.
