PhpBB SMF MyBB Xenforo (What I am currently using)
It would have alot of things just a few: Alerts like xenforo SEO'd out of the box Sitemaps by default A easy pugin system Some nice javascript...
Definitely. A forum must have good content and a nice style for me to join it, and not too many forums or I end up closing my tab.
No I agree, these days a website/forum need to have everything to succeed, I look at content and looks. Both are important.
I dont often use directories like I used to, but I do submit from time to time if I find one that I think will help my forum if I submit to it.
I do that and have a nice looking layout and a TLD domain. So basicllay. - Good content - Nice Layout/Deign - TLD domain.
I remember when I had one... I do think it has died, time to move on after this update.
I would say phpBB, its sucks just as much as SMF, there really is nothing special about it..
I used to have one, but as others have mentioned was not much use, and members rather just have the forum by itself thats why I removed it.
I left many, but offtopic.com used to be great, its too big of a forum to enjoy and that's why I left.
I never allow members to delete their posts, its not the safe thing to do giving them that permission.
Well I just started my forum, so I am hoping for atleast 100 members and 3000 posts.
I came across here searching on Google for XenForo related things. Nice looking forum!
