Not many here use MyBB, but those of you that do, what modifications/plug ins and add-ons do you find to be most useful?

I'll probably want to use MyBB for my blog's forum initially, so I'm definitely looking forward to responses on this topic :)

Where does someone go to find mods for MyBB, by the way?

Usually here, or here. However, you must pay a small fee to inherit the modifications.

The plugin that I consider one of the most important for my uses is the Site News Plugin, as it forms the basis for RCTgo's home page. Another really useful one is the Multi Video MyCode plugin.

MyBB Mods is the official modification, plugin, and theme resource for MyBB. Everything uploaded there is free. Tom mentioned this in his post, but I felt it was a bit misleading. Also, most plugin authors usually post their plugins in the Plugins & Code Modiciations Releases forum over at the MyBB Community Forums.

Easy Refer is a great modification! However, I wish Jesse could do something where users actually have their own referral link.

Minimum Posts Suite is new to me; never stumbled upon that modification.

And, the Prune Members modification is also great.

You know, MyBB actually has a built in referrer URL, such as:

    http://forums.rctgo.net/?referrer=1

That'll set User ID 1 (in this case, me) as the referrer when you go to register.

    Exactly.

That may be useful! It was custom made by you?

A lot of these mods are great (I've used them when I used to use MyBB), but vB default. :p

The referrer Plugin, but I told him it was made by Jesse.

Slightly old thread I believe, but still on the first page.

I use the MYPS plugin as well as quite a few of the MYPS addons from mybbsource.com. I paid $5 to Labrocca and $5 to mybbsource for unlimited access to the downloads for a year, not a bad deal, I just went through and downloaded them all, and download them again when they are updated.

The ones I use on my 2 new forums are the MyIPN (had to make a new PP though....long story), MyAwards, MyStore (for MyPS), the Neg Rep Control (great incentive to get members to upgrade accounts IMO). I use quite a few others.

Whether you're on a budget or not, those 2 sites are really worth the $5 for access to the plugins, especially if you either can't afford VB, or refuse to get it for a forum that may or may not work out (like me).

The MyBBoard.net mods site is ok, but, some of the plugins are poorly coded and introduce several security vulnerabilities, I was able to SQL inject one of my forums quite easily with a few of the MBBoard.net ones. (can't remember which off the top of my head) and actually, Hackforums.net (Labroccas thriving site) got hacked 2 days ago through a poorly coded plugin he got off mybboard.net.

sorry for necroing an old thread, but mybbcentral now provides life time access to their plugins for, I think, 8 dollars. Great deal for top noch plugins.
