    I use the Google Toolbar because of that and because I was finding inconsistency in the third-party checkers' results.

    PR apparently isnt that important these days but making sure you use rel="nofollow" on all external links posted on your forum certainly helps retain and increase it. There is a mod on vbulletin.org that applies rel="nofollow" to all external links if youre not a vbseo user.

    I use this in FF, it also tells you the Alexa traffic rank of any site you visit too :)

    Removal from Google Webmaster Tools

    On October 14, 2009, Google employee Susan Moskwa confirmed that the company had removed PageRank from its Webmaster Tools section. Her post said in part, "We’ve been telling people for a long time that they shouldn’t focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it’s the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true." [35] PageRank was still displayed on the Google Toolbar web appliance two days after Moskwa's confirmation, and is still shown as of March 2010


    And on a side note, our site is still number 1!!! :lol:
