Who is your least favorite host, and why? A long time ago I had a miserable time with BurstNet... couldn't log on to their ticket system, never got a confirmation email from their support forum, never heard back when emailing them, and forget trying to get them on the phone!

Virpus and godaddy have to be the worst host I have ever used. There was one company that I used for about 3 days, but that was 2 years ago and I do not remember their name.

I can't think of the name at the moment, but a few years back, the server provider that I was using suddenly (meaning without warning or notice) disappeared - I was left with no backup(s) whatsoever and had to start fresh.

Needless to say, it was frustrating.

Well, I've only really used free web hosting, but 000webhost deleted my database out of nowhere.

I've never had a single problem with any host, so I can't answer. :shifty:

That's fantastic, Nick - you've been fortunate in that sense.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've used free web hosts for "testing" purposes in the past (years ago, when I was first starting out), and the name "Zeeblo" clearly rings a bell for some unknown reason. I find myself associating the word "dreadful" with that name...

I thought dreamhost was supposed to be one of the good ones. Have I been living under a rock?

Do I dare ask if you used their shared or dedicated hosting, Shawn?

I was under that impression, as well.

    GoDaddy...

Will never purchase anything from them again. Not even if they offer me 100 domains at 1 cent each.

I've never used GoDaddy hosting myself but I hear nothing but horror stories about it, and I have experienced it when doing an installation for a client. It was so confusing and unorganized, I almost wanted to give up. :speechless:

Well, it sounds like they've gotten better. I was last hosted with them in 2004 but they were flat out attrocious.

Care to share your experience(s) with them? They've certainly improved over the past few years, but they still have their quirks.

They kept disabling my account stating that my account was being hacked and vBulletin was the culprit. At the time I was using them for a private forum that had like 25 members with no mods, so I knew they were full of it. Board always stayed current version.

I repeatedly asked for info on how they made the determination and they would never provide anything. Eventually I moved away from them to BlueHost, same site, same setup and never had any problems.
