I didn't need many of the options offered on vbadvanced, so I wrote our own which just has our Mission Statement and I put any important notices on it. Very simple, but it's all we need.

Hm, I've never seen that mod. Thanks for pointing it out - I've certainly got it tagged. :)

Out of curiosity, what do you have in mind, in regards to what you're going to change to?

I would guess to Jelsofts CMS when they release vBulletin 4. I think alot of people will use it if it isn't to expensive.

I just have the main forum page. I do have vBadvanced installed. But I no longer use it.

For an upcoming project, I may consider using something such as vBadvanced Dynamics for the homepage. Thoughts or experiences?

vBa for the main page and have vBdynamics for a Library system. had to write a few custom modules to have vBa and vBd work nicely together. You'd expect out of the box compatibility.

In what way would you be using Dynamics? As a blog or an article system?

An article system, more than likely.

And you'd really want that to be your homepage? I wouldn't normally put an articles database as a homepage, but I guess it wouldn't be an issue.

I'm not really sure at the moment, Nick - I'm just throwing some ideas out into the fire.

The only reason why you would need people to log into wordpress is so they can post comments.

Disable new members on wordpress, install something like recaptcha to stop spam on the comments and be done with it.

Wordpress has so many features and plug ins, I see no reason to use anything else.

Wordpress here. Nothing is as powerful as wordpress at the moment.

I won't trust any first gen vBulletin things like the CMS. We all know how horribly they tanked the "social" parts of the 3.7 series, and 4.0 is really just 3.9 so I feel much better staying with something much more powerful than the CMS.

I see where you're coming from, but then converting over to the CMS doesn't sound fun.

    Well that is true but...

I'll never be converting to the vB CMS

No way it'll rival wordpress in any way. The only good thing about it is it uses the same db and structure as vB. That alone isn't enough to make me use it.

Eh, I'm still curious about the CMS more than anything else in vB 4. :p
