What are your current ad campaigns & results?

I'm curious to see what has been effective for your forum in terms of advertising. We are trying to set up the best possible campaign for our money, and we're pretty happy so far but I'm also completely new to this area

Right now we spend $10/day on Facebook and receive around 400 "likes" per week. Some of these convert over to registrations too, but not all of them. Our FB page membership (2,700) actually just bypassed the forum's. We do CPC and target users in the biggest countries, connected to members who already "Like" the page. The CTR is pretty good I think (0.6)

Google ads were not nearly as effective for us, so we turned them off.

What's worked for you? What hasn't?

Facebook never worked for us. I think I spent about £5 in total and all I got was a few clicks, no actual members or likes.

 

I don't use ad campaigns at all. And after what happened to one of my web design clients when they used Adwords, I've pretty much decided that I'm not going to use any form of paid advertising where the money is coming from me rather to me.
