Peggy, all you need do is view page source and then you're seeing what spiders see.

When I display a side column on the forum index, I will use a right column. That gets the individual forum links up above the links being used in the side column.

I always use postbit legacy as it seams more organised to me and because I always have too much custom fields to fit for the horizontal postbit.

You know, this forum is a perfect example of why I hate the classic postbit: all of the white space following posts just bugs me to no end. I could save so much time if I didn't have to keep scrolling so much between posts. :p

Relax, Justin - at least your fingers are getting some exercise.

But then you can't consistently read the posts because there would be a huge block of information in-between them. :unhunh:

I like both Postbit and Legacy. But, for fixed width I think that the vertical wins! :D

I don't think we even have an option with the various ForumAddict information we have in our postbit.

I'm not saying you should use the horizontal postbit, just saying this is an example of why I don't like it. ;)

Personally, I would like a hybrid of the two.

Basic information on the left. That being username, avatar, number of posts and current reputation.

Tools in a discrete menubar across the top-right. This would be things like report post, ip address, reputation, infractions, maybe a "buddy" icon. Possibly social networking information.

These would frame the post top and left but not be obtrusive. Other information could be held in a business card like popup or simply on the profile.

Guess I just outlined another job for myself.

That is an excellent idea Wayne. I hope you can come up with something like that.

I agree. I'd probably even pay for something like that, depending on how it turns out.

Mmm, yes, please do that and show us how it turned out. That sounds like it would look great.

Great Idea, would love to see how that would turn out to look.
