Have you ever misspelled your domain and actually registered it on accident?

As silly as it sounds, I once completed the whole registration process without noticing I had a typo in my domain name. I had previously checked to see if the domain I wanted was available (and it was) but when I later came back to buy it I messed up the name by one letter. So I called GoDaddy right away and they fixed it for me. :p You?

Luckily I have not. It's a good thing GoDaddy let you change the domain!

Not a misspelling as much as a misunderstanding, but I once bought a domain name for a non-profit as "Kenyan..." as opposed to "Kenya...". Then after I straightened that out, they decided to go for the .org instead of the .com they originally decided on.

The guy actually laughed at me and told me to be more careful. Whether it's a good or bad thing, the one thing about GoDaddy phone support is that their people seem to be a little more "real".

    No.

Like Fmb, I double check, check three times and even have some other to check for me.

Some people deliberately register misspelled domains in hopes of getting the search engine traffic from careless users.

It's a pretty smart move, in my opinion. If I had a very successful website, I'd probably acquire some common misspellings of the domain.

In fact, thanks to Kevin (KW802) who brought it to our attention, we purchased adminaddicts.net and .com last evening. :D

... and they should be forwarding to the correct address. Please let me know if they aren't. :)

They were last night; so unless you changed something, they should still be. :D

That's a good idea; if I was typing in the URL on an unfamiliar computer (or if I'd only heard of the forum offline) I might add the "s" also.
