I just happened across this video shared by @HLJames on Twitter and it appears to be a change that may benefit forum owners.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtirDMfcOKE&fmt=22"]YouTube - Google Search Options[/ame]

Although it doesn't seem to be very accurate, I think it can evolve into something that will lead more visitors to our forums.

    What are your thoughts?

Wow, this is actually quite amazing for me. I'm always trying to find new forums I've never seen before via Google. I'm going to need to try this out right now.

And yes, I can see this working. If the search really does limit it to only forums on the topic that you searched, it should be rather effective. The only downside I see is that I think a lot of non-forum savvy people that only want what they are looking for and may not even know what a forum is will probably not use this option and thus not come across our communities as easily.

Just Add Meta Tags To Forums, The Forum Description. They Seem To Help
Out In Google Search. This Is Very Awesome.

I tried a few searches with the "Forums" option enabled. Uh, most of the results weren't forums.

Yeah, I noticed that. Hence my mentioning of its lack of accuracy. :p

I had never even noticed these options, but now that I try them out (hoping my own forums will come up), I find they're full of Yelp and City Data posts :(

No, I Mean Like A Tag Cloud!

I Think You Can Find It On vbulletin.org

    Its A Pretty Useful Thing.

Also The Meta Tags. They Are Added In AdminCP.

But I Prefer Tag Cloud, Very Useful!

I hate it, not accurate enough for me to ever want to use it. I tried it and got a lot of irrelevant sites.

You Ever Try Searching Your Site Link?

Or Just The Name Your Forum/Site?

If you want to search a specific site, then yes you would use that (without the space though).

For example: site:adminaddict.net sweeks - Google Search
