a couple of things

these aren't exactly bugs, but more like nitpicks:

1) the thing at the top of the thread ("Soup Talk --> Planet Me --> Me Mee Meeeee!! --> My Cramps have spread to my esophagal cavity") ought to be reproduced at the bottom of the thread - that's where the page jumps after a reply, and it would be handy to have a link back to the forum page right there.

2) I don't know if this is within your control, but i think that in the abovementioned thing, the category doesn't really need to be there - i click the previous level, and i can't select anything but "general" or whatever header i was in. not necessary, just thought i'd bring it up

3) We used to have a pulldown menu in the individual thread pages for jumping to another forum... i loved that. can it come back?

 

oh yeah, i forgot one...

4) when you go to edit a message, pressing "tab" no longer goes straight to the submit button. that page didn't get tweaked or something.

 

I'd been meaning to ask about this myself, but I'm too lazy.

 

I can probably address a few of these points myself as I know quite a bit about the internal workings of vBulletin ..

1 & 2: are quite possible, however it depends on whether or not Alien would like to reproduce that bar down at the bottom, and whether or not to get rid of the category bar.

3: This is also quite possible and quite easy, if Alien wanted I could script it for him.

4: I hadn't noticed this, I will post this message then go into edit and see what happens.

Edit: Hmm, It seems you're right .. I can't offer any explanation to this Lets see what Alien comes up with.

 

i more miss having the links back to the forums at the bottom of each screen. althouth the pulldowns are very nice as well. :bgrin:

 

oh i know what the problem is.. i originally suggested the modification that made the tab jump possible - you give each item in the form a "tabindex" number, and that's the order the tabs will go in. he just didn't get it in the edit page code.

4) Done.

Another Idea.

Is there anyway to make that smilie list on the left of the post message thing customizable. It would be really nice to be able to make it so that we could pick the smilies that we use the most.

 

Prox, thats an excellent idea, maybe a good idea for a hack, I might suggest it (and give you credit) at the vB support forums.

 

That would really rock, but would take ALOT of new coding...

Suggestion at the vB site is definatly worth a shot though!
