Your Test User

I'm guessing most of us have a test account on our forum to test permissions and what ever else from an end user prospective. Do you do anything fun with yours?

He's Skippy the Server Monkey and once in a while I post something funny as him. Some one will embed a boat load of huge pics when I get on here comes Skippy saying "Hey you ..you're breaking my tables", stupid things like that. All the members know it's me..It's just a fun way to shed a little light on people blowing out my tables. :lol:

That's pretty cool, I've never seen that before. Sounds like a good way to bring the community closer together with a little bit of fun humor.

I've made a forum mascot in the past for my largest forum. It was completely customized to reflect the forum and was occasionally used for certain things, but never really did anything interesting. AdminAddict has a ForumAddict and TestAddict, both of which don't do anything fun at the moment. ForumAddict is a RSS bot/forum mascot and TestAddict is the official test account amongst a few more.

Yea its an good idea. Me however have only used an account name Bot Machine for automatic stuff and like a smod my test account I have different names for sometimes i have my middle name for it and sometimes I just have something else. This account i only have for testing purposes like different usergroups permission and that stuff.

 

Mine is named after my cat. And he comes out and says Hi to everyone and has lots of friends in his profile. He even started a Social Group about Furry Critters. Everyone knows it's me and they are all nice and friendly to him.

 

I think this is hilarious - I don't have a test user at the moment but I'm now thinking of creating one.

 

I currently do not have a test user, but I suppose it would be a good idea to have one. Would be fun to customize it for the forum, too...

 

I don't have a test user either - I don't think one is needed if I have a test site.

I keep accidentally pruning ours : / We have four at the moment for various purposes, usually with rather uncreative names based off of 'test'.

 

They must feel so unwanted.

 

Their love is unconditional and if they are murdered I can always make new ones my mommy always said to make new friends the part about keeping the old ones is so 20th century...

 

Oh Dan I like your idea, definitely going to tweak some things this weekend. I assume some members wouldn't know it's me and think it's an actual animal posting. :lol: *raises eyebrow*

 

That's a cool idea. I've got a couple of test accounts, so I'll probably do something with them soon

aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww mines only called testuser..she doesnot come out very often, i used to use the first member who joined as our guinea pig, but since he is a mod now, i cant, so i will ask one of the members to test it out!

when we first made the forum, testuser came out a lot to test members permissions, before we allowed our first members to join...wouldnt be good to find out that members couldnt post or anything

(although on my first night of being admin, i accidentally messed up my own permissions...)

 

Well, on my forum we have two test accounts.
They are both boring and do not post a thing...

 

Currently using my neighbour's (who isn't active anymore) account. Thinking about an account which will actively blend into the community like a server monkey, lol
