Do you tend to write articles about your websites niche/demographics and post them on your own forums for your members to read and give you feedback?

I do now and then but it hard to come up with good fresh content now and then.

I have written quite a few articles on the subject of my site, and the community. Most are in the official blog, although some come under essays, and some under articles.

I am no writer, so I out source it. I do not have too many problems coming up with titles/ideas for articles.

I couldnt pay for articles and pass them off as my own, it is rather tempting :D

Is it expensive to purchase say a 500 word unique article?

I'm like a news paper. :D All those that wish to get credit, do. In fact, I actually have a few people who write for news papers write for me.

As far as how much an article will cost, it will depend on several factors. Where and who you go to, how well they write, and how good your relations are with the person.

There are several places you can order articles, such as Buy Website Content, Order Articles - Constant Content or No Doubt Marketing-Article Writing Service-Custom Content Creation-Article Writing Company No Doubt I believe you just pay a set price, what they give you, you get. Constant Content you can set a price, type of article (full rights, unique, usage), and other details. You can then review a small portion of the article before purchase. There are many other sites out there for content.

I personally like going within the community. You get people who are passionate about the subject. Not only that, I tend to find professional writers in my community. You get, what I feel at least, better quality content, and what people are really looking for, at a decent price.

I've written a number of articles which are generally well received. My initial goal was to write one a month, but that didn't last long. Some discussion on the forum will come up and motivate me. Recently a discussion actually started by a troll motivated me to write a mini article with a flow-chart.
