Whos Online

On your forums do you allow members to view whos online? If so, what do you allow them to see on the list?

On our teen forums we have it disabled for all members. We have never liked it and see it as something admins and mods really need. I have always seen the list on others forums with it saying the admin is in the admin cp or theyre sending a private message. I suppose its good to see who is doing what but is it really needed for members?

 

The bigger sites I have it turned off for all but staff due to resources. I feel it can add up as we had people just sitting there and refreshing to see what others were doing.

 

I thought I had it turned off for all but admin/mods, until I saw the other day when looking at Whos Online that a member was also looking at Whos Online. I turned it off coz I didnt really want that available to members.
