Which company do you currently use to host your forum, and how do you find them?

I use MediaTemple - and have found the uptime to be quite reliable apart from a few hiccups here and there.

Sounds good! Looking at their website, they apparently offer 100% uptime - have they delivered their promise so far?

They have, 100% of the time. I've been with them for roughly six months - during this time, I have never experienced any sort of downtime (with the exception of an hour or two due to network maintenance). In addition, I don't think I've waited more than 10 minutes (usually less) for a response from the support or technical teams.

I'll be adding an additional 6GB of RAM to the server in which this community is located on within the next day. I don't expect the upgrade to take more than 10 minutes - they're that good. ;)

Dreamhost and HostGator. I find both to be extremely great. Discuss Life has only been down once, and that was for ten minutes, because Dreamhost was doing some sort of maintenance. HostGator's great, no downtime (yet) and the support is magnificent.

Interestingly enough, I have a third dedicated server (with another provider) that I'm not even using.

You don't want to know. :D

I purchased the third machine from GigeNET. They've been quite impressive overall - speedy deployment and excellent support. I wouldn't exactly rate them as highly as WiredTree, but they are great nevertheless and their network is excellent.

My friend got a Dreamhost on sale, paid out entirely for a year, and basically let me have free reign on it. It's ok, but I quickly outgrew it. The downtimes are too frequent, and the server can be extremely slow, but that's the tale of shared hosting.

I'm hoping to get a job before the end of the period, so I can move to a VPS or something.

We use eukhost.com and their support and uptime is second to none.
