Each forum software has mods and plugins for Anti-Spam measures, what do you use to prevent spam on your forum?

For XenForo I use the "XenUtilities" add-on which integrates StopForumSpam.com, BotScout.com (Key Needed), and FSpamlist.com (Key Needed).

It does a great job at preventing spam, and those 3 sites are some of the biggest. If you use XenForo, I recommend XenUtilities, its great and its an awesome way to fight spam.

I never really had one but when administrating a vbulletin forum I always had to make them secure due to bots.

That's what Chatting Time uses is Anti-Spam ACP. Love the built-in one click ban feature! Makes banning a heck of a lot easier, that's for sure!

Yeah, but the only problem is, I think it's better used for banning spambots than it is actual trouble makers. Because I know I've used this a couple times before as a quick and easy banning method for those who deserved permanent bans... however, not only did it ban them but it deleted their posts as well, and they weren't being banned for spamming! So I think this is a tool best used on Spambots rather than trouble makers who deserve an actual perma ban.

There's is actually a newer vB plugin out that's supposed to roll two or three anti-spam plugins into one but for the life of me I cannot remember it's name.

I've always had good results using the question and answer method.
Ask a few questions that are directly related to your site and it'll stop a lot of the bots, then you just have to worry about the human spammers.
