What's your default "no avatar" avatar?

I believe most forum scripts just don't display any avatar unless one is specifically chosen, but that drives me nuts because then the posts look uneven. On my vB forums I have the Default Avatar mod installed so there will be something there even if the user doesn't choose an avatar. At first I went with generic "no avatar" images, but soon realized I wanted them to fit in with my design or theme better.

I like the first avatar that you've attached - very creative. :)

I don't use one but was wondering if we should use one of Shelley's no avatar images here... Any opinions?

Personally, I don't like "no avatar" avatars. The may be various reasons for someone to not have an avatar, but one of them is because they just might not want a picture there - they like the look of their postbit without anything at all.

Michelle, I love the first one you made. And the second one does look great on your forum.

The default avatar on my site is now a "Gravatar". Its a little different but if the user has a Gravatar account, than my site will automatically pull that for display.

I was just checking that out on your site, Wayne - it's neat! I love how when I comment on WordPress blogs (without registering), it uses my Gravatar; now it's even more neat to know that it can be done with vBulletin, too. :)

I personally wouldn't use a Gravatar, I like having a different avatar on different forums.

Yeah. I can understand that as well. With the addon in my signature you can still do that. I just wanted something colorful for default avatars or if someone has a gravatar and doesn't assign one at my forum than that can be used.

I can understand that, it's certainly better than having no avatar at all :)

Well - for JPiC Forum it's
    .

For my new forum which is currently in development it's
    .

Both images in the default no avatar graphics are part of the sites' logo :)
