Christmas is just two months away, and most forums I frequent at are doing Secret Santa activities, etc.

What's AA doing? I think doing a Secret Santa here could be fun - except, the catch would be, all gifts would be forum-related.

Say, donations, AdWords coupon, Amazon giftcard, etc, etc.

Yesssss, you should just give presents to those born in december, near Christmas day, you know, because it's not bad asking for free stuff all the time, ya know. ;D

All jokes aside... why the hell are you thinking of December when turkey hasn't been eaten yet?

It's a bit early to release what we have in store for the coming months, so I'm not going to mention anything... yet. ;)

'Cause Christmas is my favorite holiday!

I get just about everything I put onto my Christmas list. Really, it's just fun ripping up wrapping paper and seeing all of my family from far away.

About me being a brat. Are you kidding me? You're only making yourself immature by calling me one.

So what if I get what I ask for, for Christmas. That's what Christmas is about - exchanging gifts.

Christmas is not about exchanging gifts, that's what people turned it to be. Some peoples gift do not come wrapped, some do not even hold monetary value.

Christmas for some people has turned into a monetary thing, exactly like you describe it.

We could always hold an 'event' of some type for each major holiday. I'd be open to hearing any ideas (or some fresh perspective). :)

As long as I don't get an abundance of socks this year I'll be fine.

Well, I know Christmas is not just about exchanging gifts. If you follow the Christian religion, it's about celebrating the birth of Jesus - which is also another reason why I like Christmas. Going to mass, and fellowshipping. I mean, even there, we have Secret Santa. Because I attend a decent sized church, we have started the name picking.

Also, I know some gifts don't hold monetary value - some are just things that are passed down through the family. And, that's okay too - I'm very grateful. Or, I like to think I am.

Id never heard of Secret Santa before reading this. Sounds a good idea if someones willing to be so giving. Christmas is whatever you want to make it, whatever religion you are. If people are greedy at Christmas then so be it, same as those who go to church, everyone to their own :D
