So i closed JetGaming down and creating a new site with vB4 and a skin from SkinBox, I'm still doing it on gaming but sticking to 3 games all the same genre which im extremely good and knowledgeable in. I and a friend have filled it full of content and consecutive posts/threads evening it out in so its like not all the latest posts by me or him. I have blogged/articled a couple important posts such as patch note and important information and have setup everything correctly. I have vBulletin Advanced friendly URLs, Google Sitemap on the read aswell as Analytics and Webmasters. The site is going to include video tutorials so i have secured a YouTube account along with it aswell as a Twitter account, Im going to start doing video tutorials and tips and walkthroughs tomorrow so i can get some views from YouTube, I'm just wondering is there anything else i need to do? (Sorry if this sounds a bit jumbled up or miss spelt..4:30am)
Go to a movie Have a drink - if your legal drinking age - maybe some crown and coke Get a good nights sleep Think long and hard about what your going to do with the site. Is this going to be a serious site and a long term project? Or is it going to be a short term project? Get some second opinions from your friends.
Looks like you have a really good handle on things. Deff give yourself some credit, that is a very well laid out site. I like the skin (normally I'm not a big fan of dark themes), it suits the genre well. The gaming topic is a very tight niche to break into. One thing I would focus on is creating more open ended conversations. Post some threads asking some questions (even if you know the answer, that's cool too). Inspire some potential visitors to want to register and join in. The content is great, but alot of times. More often than not, when you have article, instructional type threads, visitors will lurk and get the information they need then "poof" they're gone. You want to make the open ended conservations targeted towards subjects that can have a wide variety of opinions and angles. That's just my opinion though.
