I went to sign up on a blogging forum today, and the random question was "What is Yaro's last name?"

How am I supposed to know who yaro is? A google search gave the name of a blogger by the name of yaro and that just happened to be him/her.

Good thing the random question was not "what is kevins last name", or "what is johns last name",,,,,.

Keep stuff like that in mind when your picking a human verification random question.

Lmao I can understand some niches saying things like what is Rodneys older brothers name maybe for an Only Fools and Horses forum but anything general that is a big no no.

I remember making a mistake like that when originally choosing verification questions for my own site, I had to tone down the questions after a few people pointed out that asking who the final boss in a Game Boy era game was a bad idea for a human verification question.

But out of curiosity, who did 'Yaro' turn out to be?

There was this one forum I never could figure out the answer. The forum was about websites, or blogging,,, I dont even remember the name of the site.

The question was something like "what is this site about?"
    webmaster - wrong
    blogging - wrong
    site name - wrong
    site title - wrong

Finally I said "screw it", gave up and left.

Maybe that is why the forum did not have any members? But oh well.

Schools these days barely teach who the president is, much less who Yaro is.

So yea, kneel I can understand someone not knowing who the president is. And we wonder why this nation has the problems it does. :(

Wouldn't they have seen the news and newspaper mentions of him? Half the news media talks about Obama nowadays in some context.

I remember trying to register on a forum that asked what color the moon is. White, blue, grey/gray, or yellow didn't work. Then I tried purple, red, green and every other regular color... and it still didn't work.

I had to contact the owner to get registered, but I'm sure most people would have given up much sooner. As you said, it's important to pick good questions.

Would you want them to know who the president is :D

All joking aside, my gf is a school teacher elementry at that so I've got a pretty good look first hand at how they try to get kids to learn, and my take on it is thats it's fell apart at the base and its destroyed the whole system.

These kids have Phys-ed 5 days a week, and science/social studies 1. Its a economically challenged area we live in and there are smart kids, but those are the ones that are effected negatively by the current education system because they aren't taught to grow mentally, only physically. Basically it goes like this

    Poor Area:
Dumb kids = Good, you can do gym 5 days a week and get past on being in first grade learning the alphabet.
Smart Kids = bad, you won't be challeneged you'll only be as smart as the dumbest kid in your class while everyone he catches up to you, you'll lose interest and get passed by by smart kids in not poor areas

    Rich Area:
Dumb kids = Good, they break you down into groups, stick you with other dumb kids and you learn at a slower pace.
Smart Kids = Good, you get stuck with smarter kids, learn faster and gain more mentally.

Education system as a whole = massive failboat.

Everyone knows who the President of the USA is - even down here in Australia I would have gotten that answer easily - Big old Arny - Gee I love his movies :D

For those playing along at home I am joking we all know it's Bill Clinton :)

Factor in the liberal teaching and it's an even bigger failboat. But that's a whole different thread. :D
