Before turning the forum over to me, the previous owner told me he had spent $50 on AdWords to acquire 14 members. I'm not sure if that's a good price per member or not, since I haven't tried AdWords myself. I've been acquiring members mostly through the search engines (good SEO) and the free logo buttons I make for the members, so you could count the cost of vbSEO, the button maker machine, and the blank buttons as costs of member acquisition. What does it cost you to acquire each member, on average?

We don't really advertise but I've just taken over the marketing/ads portion of the site and will look into it. It's not very wise to advertise a general discussion forum though, not in an economic sense, usually.

We haven't yet paid for any advertising, so $0.

Uhhhh, people spend money to get members? I thought about buying some ad words to help promote my wifes and my sons forum. But they are in a tough market.

The only thing I spend money on is to make my videos and take my pictures.
