Do you have any goals that you hope to accomplish with your community? If so, what are they?

I'll start it off by saying the following:
    ~Get my community to 100k posts[currently at 48k]
    ~Get my community to 2k members[currently at 1,742]
    ~Get my community more traffic.
~Get a professional skin done one day.

What are some of your forum goals? Why don't you share them with us?

Eventually I want to get into politics (in real life, not my forum) and I am using my site (cms/forum) as a way to develop my thoughts and fine tune my debating skills. I have used other people's forums for years but I have found that debate breaks down after a while and typically people are not very willing to point it out. People have always said "well if you think you can do it right, go for it". Well, I'm going for it. I would eventually like to have a busy site (I would be fine with 1k posts a day) and decent traffic. I am not revenue driven but I would like to get to the point that the site demands that I start advertising and get a domain with more resources. That would be nice.

I already reached it. My current forum was purely to test XenForo, so now I don't really care how or where it goes.

However, some of my members will think otherwise.

Good point - so you're not going to put any focus into anymore?

Sounds like a great goal indeed. I remember when I first started my community, I couldn't write for crap or carry on conversations, so I've been blessed for quite some time now. I'm sure you can do it, its all possible and be sure to keep us updated of your progress.

Not really sure, not something I have thought much about. If the site ever gets popular will think about what to do then.

Yes and no. There has been a spike in activity and I'm still working towards adding a few things, but by January's time, I will either have sold my forums (looking more unlikely) or will be delegating a lot of duties to others.

My current goal is to get to 10,000 posts by the end of the year (we are at 7,500 at the moment). Also, I'd like to reach 350 members soo (348 right now).
My overall goal is to reach 50,000 posts and 50 active members (currently around 7).

Ahh, I see. Why do you plan to sell it? How much are you going to be asking?
@Wolfy I'm pretty sure you can do it - 10k posts by the end of the year. What's your daily post average?

We'll see. By the looks of it, they'll need me, so I'll keep it. I won't really have time to know it but I'll be explicit/transparent about it.

Getting some active members generated from SEO and not post exchange services. Quality members and maybe a whole different idea for the forum. Not quite sure on that, something I can think over.

I hope we can. Currently we are getting about 150 posts a week. If that stays the same, we'll only get to 8,900 :(

Right now, for my family forum, I have the goal of getting it off the ground and gaining more activity, which is slowly but surely happening. I have a list of goals, but I haven't actually written them down yet. For my writing forum, the current goal is to get to 2,000 threads, which we're getting close to.

That's not so bad though. Any contests going on your forum or no?

I like goals. I have some for this year, it's the first time I have some for my community.
    1. get 1000 posts/month - even if it's very small and just starting out, I am doing my best to keep it VERY active. The more active it is now, the faster it will develop
    2. get it to earn advertising revenue in 3 months - even 5 bucks
    3. be one of the top communities in my niche and provide excellent content for my members. I do believe we need more forums in our niche and I am so thrilled to see already few amazing 'competitors'. There's always a huge need for excellent content so, the more forums are, the better.
