Personally, I never quite understood what these were used for. What benefit would they give the average user of this site?

Agreed - and I'd like to know, as well.

I use vbplaza on my board but it is a general forum so I think it there is a place for it.

If anything like that would be implemented on here I would say vbcredits, because you can buy actual real products with that setup. That way if people want to put stuff up for sale like images or anything really, the credits system could be the 'middle man' so people feel they won't be ripped off.

    vBux could fit in here.

They could be used to purchase premium membership/advertising space, etc.

._. To be honest, I don't see the necessity of vBux here. In no way would be beneficial. Premium membership is only a couple of dollars, don't have 'em? Wait till you do.

I never was in favor of this idea, either. I have always wanted to use vBBux/vBPlaza, but this really doesn't seem to be the appropriate community for such an add-on.

We will not be selling advertising space or Premium Membership for points; there are plenty of other forums that do that, but not us.

I think it will just bloat the site with an unwanted feature.

vBCredits, vBCommerce, vBAdvertise, vBTracker would all work well. I hate vBux and vBPlaza. After conversing with PixelFX, you can do so much and it would work great.

I use vBcredits with vBcommerce and it's great. It even makes me money from time to time with the cash conversion add-on.

I think that vBadvertise would actually be perfect for AA actually :)

I am not that familiar with how it works, but I think it would be, too.

It's a mod which when coupled with vBcomerce & vBcredits will allow the 'buyer' to use credits to purchase ad space in various places on your site.

Furthermore, if someone has either run out of credits or would not want to post or participate for credits, they can simply purchase more credits using the cash conversion mod.

Well seeing as though I wouldn't want to allow users to purchase ad space with their credits, they'd have to pay with money anyways. (I'm not sure how my fellow admins feel about it though) So I don't find it to be that necessary.

no benefit really for this site.

It's great for a general chat site, tho.. Integrate it with an arcade, and you're all set.

    I wouldn't use vBux/vBPlaza tho. I'd use vBCredits.

You can also integrate it with an arcade, so that members have to "earn" x amount of credits to play in the arcade. Also, vBPlaza has a "store" of sorts where you can spend credits to give other members small graphical gifts that show in their postbit or profile.

It's quite nice, actually, but not for this kind of site.

Nick, there's also a 'real item' purchase option through vBcommerce which you can look into. I can't remember if it's already out or in development though.

Now that would be good to have if they ever implemented AdminAddict attire.

I think the beta is available Arny but not sure. I haven't looked at it in quite a while.
I guess it's time to do so. ;)

No, because AA attire would be through a third party company like CafePress, meaning we'd have to use their store or the vBulletin/CafePress integration mod.

So do something like that, then.
